Our Story

A Family Business Built on Hard Work

Pat and his wife Jackie started Dowty Construction in 2006. What began as a passion for building has grown into one of central Indiana's most trusted outdoor construction companies. With roots in military service, firefighting, and the skilled trades, the Dowty team brings discipline, craftsmanship, and genuine care to every project. Pat and Chris have over 35 years combined experience in construction and engineering, and are complemented by a staff of some of the best carpenters in the business. We take pride in what we do, we strive to be the best, and we let our work speak for itself.

Meet Pat & Chris Dowty

Pat Dowty

Co-Founder

Pat has been through the carpenter's apprenticeship program and holds a bachelor's degree from Eastern Illinois University in Industrial Technology. He is a retired Wayne Township (Indianapolis) Fire Department firefighter and serves as the head wrestling coach for Indian Creek High School. Pat and his wife Jackie have 8 children together and reside in Morgantown, IN.

Chris Dowty

Co-Founder

Chris served in the US Air Force where he specialized in Civil Engineering. He and his wife Mary reside in Franklin, IN. Chris and Mary enjoy playing their hand in real estate and construction by adding value to existing properties through creative renovations and skilled home designs.
